Calcium & Phosphourous levels

Calcium is an essential nutrient needed for bone health. With regard to the level of calcium and phosphorus in our toddler formulas, the current amount of calcium required by the U.S. regulation called the Infant Formula Act is a minimum of 60 milligrams per 100 Calories. Phosphorus is another important mineral for bone health. The minimum level of phosphorus required is 30 milligrams per 100 Calories. The most important aspect of calcium and phosphorus to ensure good calcium absorption is the calcium to phosphorous ratio.

The calcium to phosphorus ratio in an infant formula is required to be no less than 1.1 or more than 2.0.  Baby’s Only Organic® formulas all have a calcium to phosphorus ratio within this range and provide an appropriate  quantity of calcium and phosphorus needed for young children.
