Which Baby's Only Organic formula to choose?

Without knowing your child’s medical and nutritional history, it is difficult to offer a suggestion on the most appropriate type of formula to use. The following describes the types of formulas that we offer. We recommend that you consult with your child's healthcare provider for advice on the type of formula that is best suited to use with your child.

Baby’s Only Organic® offers six formulations:

The Dairy Formula was the first organic formula on the market and is often recommended by healthcare professionals. Baby’s Only Organic® Dairy formula contains naturally occurring lactose from the organic nonfat cow’s milk used as the protein source and also includes a complex carbohydrate, organic brown rice syrup, along with all the necessary fat, vitamins and minerals to complete the nutritional requirements of a child.

The Dairy Formula with DHA and ARA is the same formulation as the Dairy Formula, but with the addition of DHA and ARA. This formulation is for parents and/or healthcare providers that prefer to have the formula supplemented with DHA and ARA. Baby's Only Organic® Dairy with DHA & ARA is naturally derived from egg lecithin. This differs from life'sDHA™ that is used in all other organic and conventional formulas, which is derived from algae & fungus and treated with hexane solvent, acid and bleach. Parents who want to avoid giving their child a formula with chemically treated oils, but would like added non-essential fatty acids should consider Baby's Only Organic® Dairy formula with DHA & ARA.

Whey Protein Dairy formula contains 100% organic lactose for the carbohydrate source and also added organic whey protein powder, in addition to the organic nonfat dried cow’s milk. The combination of organic nonfat cow’s milk with organic whey protein along with the carbohydrate source being 100% organic lactose provides a nutritional profile for these nutrients close to that of breast milk. Also, if a child has a history of constipation or if constipation is a concern when transitioning from breast milk to formula or from one formula to another, Baby’s Only Organic®Dairy Formula with Whey Protein may aid digestion and help produce softer stools.

Whey Protein Dairy with DHA and ARA is the same formulation as the Whey Protein Dairy Formula, but with the addition of DHA and ARA. This formulation is for parents and/or healthcare providers that prefer to have the formula supplemented with DHA and ARA.  The DHA and ARA in Baby's Only Organic® Whey Protein Dairy with DHA & ARA is naturally derived from egg lecithin. This differs from life's DHA™ that is used in all other organic and conventional formulas, which is derived from algae & fungus and treated with hexane solvent, acid and bleach. Parents who want to avoid giving their child a formula with chemically treated oils, but would like added non-essential fatty acids should consider Baby's Only Organic® Whey Protein Dairy formula with DHA & ARA.

The LactoRelief™ DHA & ARA Formula* has had the lactose or milk sugar removed using a natural enzyme process that is allowed by the USDA National Organic Program.  This formula is intended for children who are lactose sensitive and offers an alternative to parents who wish to avoid soy protein† in their child’s diet.  This formulation also contains a DHA & ARA supplement that is naturally derived from egg lecithin. This differs from life'sDHA™ that is used in all other organic and conventional infant formulas, which is derived from algae & fungus and treated with hexane solvent, acid and bleach. Parents who want to avoid giving their child a formula with chemically treated oils, but would like added non-essential fatty acids should consider Baby's Only Organic® LactoRelief™ formula with DHA & ARA.

The Soy Formula is also lactose free and is appropriate for children with the genetic disorder galactosemia, when parents prefer a vegetarian diet, or are concerned that their toddler may not be getting the adequate amount of Vitamin D necessary from non-dairy beverages such as almond milk or rice milk.1 This is the only soy formula on the market that does not contain corn syrup as its source of carbohydrate. Instead, Baby’s Only Organic® contains a complex carbohydrate, organic brown rice syrup.

 * Do not use for children with the genetic disorder galactosemia.

† Baby's Only Organic® LactoRelief™ Formula contains soy oil ingredients.
