If you have been using Baby’s Only Organic® Dairy or Whey Protein Dairy Formula and have switched to our Baby’s Only Organic® Dairy with DHA or Whey Protein Dairy with DHA Formula, you will notice a few differences between the products:
•Because of the addition of the non-essential fats called DHA and ARA to Baby’s Only Organic® Dairy with DHA and Whey Protein Dairy with DHA Formula, the formula is not as fluffy as Baby’s Only Organic® Dairy and Whey Protein Dairy Formula so the canister may appear to be partially unfilled. However, the product is packaged by weight and the same amount of powder by weight is in the canister of both products. We suggest shaking the canister to increase the “fluffiness” of the powdered formula with DHA before measuring it with a scoop or measuring utensils.
•The DHA and ARA fats, even though they are derived from egg yolks, do have a slight but normal “eggy” odor. This is most noticeable when opening the canister of Baby’s Only Organic® Dairy and Whey Protein Dairy with DHA Formula for the first time. Actually, noticing the smell of the DHA and ARA fats indicates that they have indeed been added to the formula!
•The addition of the DHA and ARA to the formula does result in a slightly different taste that baby may notice. Any change in formula will sometimes result in baby unwilling to consume the formula for the first few feedings. This too is normal behavior and baby will adjust to the new taste and also the new odor.
